Since the “Dreamland’ expo in 2014 Ulrike Jurklies has chosen not to present the products of her label mo man tai during Dutch Design Week but to focus on realizing an installation for the yearly event starting from a more personal topic…
“The time leading up to Dutch Design Week is the period to leave behind most of the commercial considerations of the design phase(s) and to solely target offering the visitors an experience… an impression; inspired by the expertise or specific materials and processes the supporting partners have available.”
Collaborating with varying professionals; all with their specific craftsmanship and know how, enable her each year to realize these exhibitions. Without the partners below this year’s project would not have been possible. Their contribution, the effort and expertise, professional cooperation and feedback was invaluable from the conception onwards.

Flocking is a very versatile finish, both for technical and purely decorative applications. This kind of ‘velvet coating’ can be applied to a wide variety of materials from solid plastics, metal, wood, glas and other materials such as soft, flexible foams. We distinguish four different types of application; ‘plano sheets’, industrial series, manual and ‘3D’ — “You name it we flock it!” is our slogan. Flocktechniek offers a very wide range of standard colors.
The production set up allows for creating a single piece as well as a limited series or large quantities of products. Through our expertise in flocking we supply to customers in the Netherlands and the rest of Europe.

The essence of who we are, is the white canvas. Because you color our world, we create impact together. We don’t wait for innovations, we innovate ourselves. BIGGER equals BETTER. Sustainability has no boundaries to us: BIG impact, small footprint.
We take responsibility for the world we live in, so our standard is sustainable production. We’re continuously looking for ways to work as sustainable as possible, to save and recycle materials. Our goal is that 80% of our products will be sustainable in 2020, for instance by finding new destinations for (waste) products or by making sure that our products are 100% PVC-free, biobased or circular. From 2009 onwards, we have been reusing products and materials.

AreaFiftyOne skatepark was originally located in an old airplane hangar in Meerhoven. In 2005 the activities were relocated to the building SEU, in the hart of Strijp-S. With a total surface of more than 3000 square meters it is one of the largest indoor skateparks in Europe. Under it’s roof virtually every kind of ‘urban sports’ can be practised and for most of these also courses and weekly training is offered.
The multi functional location also aims to be a podium for other ‘urban’ related events like concerts and expositions. As such and due to it’s central location several exhibitions and installations were hosted during Dutch Design Week.
